When WWII started, the 393d Bomb Squadron didn't exist, but it was there to end it. Under the leadership of Col Paul W. Tibbets Jr., the Tigers of 393d would drop the two most devastating weapons of the war.
Today the 393d is one of two elite B-2 Stealth Squadrons at Whiteman AFB, Missouri. The Tigers of the 393d and the Reapers of the 13th Bomb Squadron form the tip of the spear.
In this photo are several pieces that I designed for the 393d Bomb Squadron. Top left is a subdued 393d Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, patch. Next is a Military Challenge Coin designed for Lt Col John Vitacca, Commander of the 393d. Top right is other side of the coin. The ® patch is a tribute to Paul Tibbets Jr. and his aircraft the B-29 "Enola Gay". The ® was the tail markings on the Enola Gay.
To learn more about patches, read Phil Patton's interesting article about military patches at: [link]
Thanks! Due to it's mission, the 393d has operated in secrecy for most of it's existence, so that's understandable. I only know about the Tigers because of my friendship with Col Paul Tibbets, who was with the Grim Reapers and later became CO of his grandfather's famed squadron. -YD

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
