When I was a kid, I went to art classes at the Carnegie Museum in Oakland. We had this great instructor Joe Fitzpatrick who was also a family friend and who had not only taught art to my dad, my aunt and my uncles, but he also taught Andy Warhola who later made a name for himself without the "a". Fitz used to tell us that art was man's attempt to recreate beauty.
I guess that's true, but you better have something beautiful to start out with. Proof of that is that there is a lot of ugly art out there. Now that being said, it brings us to this piece... She was in a lot of stuff, but some of you might remember Rebecca McFarland as the cute blonde girl Anna that was smitten with bad boy George on an episode of Sinefeld. I know I was smitten with her. They should have made her a regular. I recently learned that she has given up acting and has turned to writing. I'm sure she will shine at that too.
Rebecca here. A friend sent me the link to your artwork. I love it! Thanks for using me as your subject. Also, I haven't given up acting. Still going strong. b
I remember that episode! George was so funny in that one, too. Just the way he reacted to the prospect of the beautiful Ms. McFarland not being attracted to him.... pure gold. George is hilarious when he's flustered.
Thanks! That was a funny episode. I liked the whole scene with the GTO, when she asked him is the orthopedic pillow was his. Sinefeld, IMO was one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
Keep your eyes out for the current K-Mart TV commercial, Rebecca McFarland is in it!

Thanks Brent! I try to work with a very limited pallet of colors, I try to keep things simple. I think the beauty of vector art is the simplicity of the colors.

The way you did the colors in this is what I'd like to learn to do.

Do you use the gradient tool for the ones where the colors fade from light to dark and such?
