Large Slow Target

My uncle Tommy Henderson at age 17 lied about his age and joined the United States Navy. He did his basic training up on the Great Lakes. He was assigned to the Destroyer Escort USS Currier and participated in the Invasion of Southern France. After the end of the war in Europe, he was transfered to the Pacific assigned to LST 598 and participated in the assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto in April and May 1945.
