Henderson Dairy DIVCOby ~yankeedog

Years ago I heard that a great uncle of mine owned a Dairy out in Derry Pennsylvania. I've been looking for some remnant of it's existence, a milk can, a bottle, a cap, but I've never found anything. This illustration was inspired by that search. In case you're wondering about some of the symbolism, the Moonstar is the symbol of the Clan Henderson, the Keystone is the symbol for Pennsylvania, the little milkman is base on Andy Ammo the mascot of the 58th Ammo Ordnance Company of the 8th Army that my dad served with during the Korean War. Of course the Milk Truck is a DIVCO. At one time in America, the DIVCO was the home delivery truck of choice for all the major dairies. Their very cool Art Deco lines and their reliable performance, made them very popular both with the drivers and the customers.

Thanks! The DIVCO truck was such a common site years ago, as a child I always associated the DIVCO with something pleasant, milk, ice cream, etc...

As an adult I just found the style and design of the truck to be so cool and nostalgic.
